I wanted to update you on an important milestone for our campaign. As of today, we’re airing TV ads across the state to ensure that Washingtonians know the costs of I-2117 to their communities.
This morning, we launched two new 15-second ads highlighting the health threats of Initiative 2117, which would roll back Washington’s most consequential clean air program in decades.
“At Risk” features Dr. Vin Gupta, a pulmonologist and critical care physician. You can watch it here.
“Child” features Maggie, the parent of a young son with asthma. You can view it here.
Both ads will air in the Spokane, Yakima-Tri-Cities, and SW WA markets. In the Seattle media market, which includes most of Western Washington, we continue to air our first ad, Ripple, spotlighting the ripple effects I-2117 would cause across our state: more air and water pollution across Washington that threaten our health, and more traffic due to the cuts in investments in Washington’s transportation system.
But we’re focused on more than just ads on this campaign. Our grassroots organizing program continues to grow. We have over 850 incredible volunteers who have reached more than 70,000 voters in 37 cities and towns. We’re proud to have over 475 organizations and Tribal Nations supporting our campaign.

The no on 2117 (www.no2117.com) campaign hosted Summer Weekend of Action events in Edmonds, Spokane, and Seattle to contact voters across Washington state. In Edmonds, speakers rallied at City Park Saturday, Sept. 7. After a brief presentation, campaign staff and volunteers began handing out leaflets and yard signs. Speaking were State Rep. Strom Peterson; Billy Wallace, Political & Legislative Director, Washington & Northern Idaho District Council of Laborers; Cynthia Jones, Sno-Isle Sierra Club.
Together, we will protect our clean air and water, make sure our economy can thrive, and safeguard the future for our kids and grandkids.
