Last week was National Youth Violence Prevention Week. Change The Ref and March For Our Lives brought families of victims of gun violence, those featured in the 30under30.us magazine, to Washington, D.C. to have a morning press conference and meet with representatives.
30under30 just published a special issue telling the stories of the families of 30 people under 30 who were killed by gun violence. We were honored to stand with so many family members of victims, and to make sure their stories are heard.

We’d like to thank the following staff and members of Congress who met with us after the press conference:
- Sen. Bernie Sanders staff
- Rep. Joaquin Castro
- Rep. Adelita Grijalva
- Rep. Greg Casar
- Rep. Sara Jacobs
- Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar
- Sen. Cory Booker
- Rep. Delia Ramirez
- Rep. Ilhan Omar
But especially, we thank the families who have joined us in activism to end gun violence in America.
Because ending gun violence takes more than passing laws — it demands a cultural reckoning with the systems that fuel it. We need as many people as possible to become activists for change.
March For Our Lives is doing exactly that.
We’ve found success fighting back against this before, and we can do it again. But we can’t do it without you.
