I’m Milena Sherman, the Organizing Manager for No Hate in WA State. I lead our field work—recruiting volunteers, organizing canvasses, and building the people-powered movement we need to win this November.
Like so many on this campaign, this work is personal for me.
I grew up queer in South King County, raised by working-class immigrant parents. Thanks to my family and our community, I had support—but I know what it’s like to navigate spaces that weren’t built for you.
That’s why I’ve dedicated my career to supporting immigrant and LGBTQ+ communities, from helping constituents access housing and immigration support as a Congressional aide, to organizing on the ground.
And it’s why I joined this campaign.
Ballot measures IL26-001 and IL26-638 aren’t just political. They’re harmful. While they actively target trans youth, the consequences would impact all students. It would make our schools less safe for those facing bullying, harassment, and abuse. It could force schools to out LGBTQ+ students to unsupportive families and impose invasive, medically unnecessary physical exams just for girls to participate in school sports.
We can stop them, but only if we organize.
Winning this fight means reaching people across Washington, having real conversations, and building a coalition strong enough to defeat these measures. That work takes volunteers, materials, and resources—and it’s powered by grassroots supporters.
Thank you for being paEvery dollar helps us reach more voters and protect Washington’s students.
Thank you for being part of this,
Milena Sherman
