People are fed up– with Trump’s despicable war abroad, and rampage against immigrants, trans people, and hardworking families at home. And people are also fed up with Democrats who are willing to kiss the rings of the very billionaires who are destroying our communities and the planet.
We are fed up– and our movement has a lot of power right now. This year, we have the opportunity to pack Congress with the very best possible candidates to deliver on our agenda. Today, we’re writing with the final round of candidates SURJ is endorsing to take on authoritarianism and the billionaire agenda:
Bob Brooks in PA-07, a decades-long union leader and firefighter. JoAnna Mendoza in AZ-06, an immigrant farmworker’s daughter and veteran. And Kaela Berg in MN-02, an anti-ICE activist and flight attendant union leader.
We’ll start our campaign work for all these candidates later in the summer, and in the meantime will be working to get our other candidates across the finish line in their primary races.
We all need to do our part this midterm year to translate our protest power into real change. Can you make a donation today to help SURJ members organize millions of white voters?
In the meantime, we’ve officially launched our phonebanks to help elect our endorsed candidates in Maine, California, and New York. After you make a donation, sign up to join us on the phones to do your part to move white voters to elect the most progressive candidates possible in these primaries.
The next phonebank is April 16. Can you join us?
In solidarity,
SURJ
