No one is coming to save us. Not the people who blame us, discard us, or build systems that were never meant for us. Certainly not the institutions that watch women and girls suffer at the hands of powerful men and choose proximity to power over justice.
So we save ourselves. Like we always have.
This International Women’s Day, we’re calling for 1,000 acts of bravery around the world. Not one march. Not one moment. A thousand.
Host a teach-in. Walk out of work. Register 10 voters. Organize your block. Stand with survivors who’ve been waiting for us to show up. Do the brave thing you’ve been putting off.
