Two initiatives are moving through the signature verification process as we speak. These initiatives would undermine student safety, strip protections from LGBTQ+ youth, and allow the government to interfere in deeply personal family decisions. Our opponents have turned in their signatures, and it looks like they have collected enough to advance these measures. With this step complete, they’re headed into the next stage: either legislative action or a direct vote of the people.
That makes this moment decisive.
We need your help. Please contribute today to Washington Families for Freedom so we can respond with full strength. Early resources make a difference because this is when misinformation spreads quickly, and momentum can either be contained or gain ground.
This is a critical moment. We believe every student deserves to be safe, respected, and supported at school, no matter who they are or where they come from. These initiatives threaten that promise. They would:
- Force educators to disclose sensitive information about students, even when it could put a young person at risk
- Limit access to trusted adults and school-based support services
- Invite invasive and harmful scrutiny of girls’ bodies in school sports
These proposals don’t make students or schools safer. They create fear, stigma, and harm, especially for LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, and young people who already face instability at home. The campaign is already mobilizing, but we need to move fast. The window to shape the conversation and stop real damage is right now.
If you’re able, please contribute today to support this work. Your support helps us organize statewide advocacy and rapid response efforts, elevate the voices of families and students most affected, and defend inclusive, safe schools in the face of growing political attacks.
Every day matters in moments like this. The decisions made in the coming weeks will shape what kind of state Washington chooses to be. Thank you for standing with us and for believing that every child deserves dignity, privacy, and safety.
In solidarity,
Washington Families for Freedom
P.S. This fight is moving quickly. A contribution today helps ensure we can meet this moment with the urgency and strength it demands.
