BIG news! The Millionaires Tax bill was just introduced in Olympia, and hearings could be scheduled at any moment. To get this through in the short time we have, we need everyone to sign in PRO for all the hearings at one time using our fast form. Nearly 1,000 people used our fast form last year, so we’re doing it again!
Here are some things we know about the bill (SB 6346):
- The Millionaires Tax will only apply to people who receive more than $1 million each year. That means only the SUPER wealthy (the top 0.2%) will be impacted, but we’ll all see the benefits.
- Right now, our tax code doesn’t allow state revenue to grow with the economy. Implementing the Millionaires Tax would provide the state with a more stable base of revenue, AND make the wealthiest in our state pay what they owe.
- This policy is popular across the board, with a poll showing that majorities of voters across political parties support it!
- More than $3 billion per year will go to schools, hospitals, childcare, and so much more.
