Move On – January 29, 2026

Posted on January 29, 2026

Dear MoveOn member,

Since Trump’s federal agents killed ICU nurse Alex Pretti on Saturday, Minnesotans have braved subzero temperatures to demand in ever-greater numbers that ICE get out of their neighborhoods.1 And MoveOn members and people across the country are rising up and organizing around the clock to say ENOUGH.

Already, our mass movement has forced Gregory Bovino, the “commander-at-large” of Border Patrol, to lose his job.2

But ICE Out isn’t just about getting ICE out of Minneapolis.

It’s about getting ICE out of all of our cities, everywhere.

It’s about getting Donald Trump’s violent deportation movement out.

It’s about getting Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, and Trump’s entire corrupt, anti-immigrant administration out.

We have the momentum right now, and we absolutely must keep it up. For weeks, MoveOn has been exerting maximum pressure on Senate Democrats to hold firm, no matter what, so that not one more life is lost to ICE and not one more family is torn apart. And now we have to keep the pressure up for the next two weeks to ensure Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats don’t bend the knee and provide a blank check to ICE.

Will you start a monthly donation of $5 to MoveOn to keep up the heat on Senate Democrats so they don’t fold and to power our mass organizing to rein in ICE?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

We know that the media are reporting signs of cracks in the ICE wall. Trump has demoted border chief Gregory Bovino after Bovino doubled down on the government’s murders of both Pretti and Renee Nicole Good.3

However, cracks are not nearly enough. We need the entire wall to come tumbling down, and that means an end to ICE’s operation entirely.

We’ve been here before. Last year, Democratic senators had the opportunity to hold firm on health care. Then, Republicans promised a vote on health care, and Senate Democrats folded.4 Months later, millions of people are paying sky-high premiums—or are foregoing health insurance altogether.

This time is different. At least for now. Senate Democrats just refused to pass the ICE funding bill.

But we must keep put the pressure and continue to work around the clock to get ICE out of our communities, NOW.

Will you chip in $5 a month to keep our ICE Out work going?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

For weeks, MoveOn has been mobilizing tens of thousands of people to make the government funding vote a referendum on ICE. And it’s worked.

Together with our partners, we pushed one of the Democrats who voted for the DHS bill last week, Representative Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.), to  publicly expressed regret for voting to fund ICE’s “illegal and immoral conduct.”5

And we pushed several senators to come out and say they would not vote for the ICE funding bill—including senators who voted for the bill that funded the latest ICE operation in the first place.6

Our pressure campaign worked. The Senate has refused to give DHS another blank check for more violence and cruelty. But we cannot let up. We must plan more calls, more protests, more community work to drive ICE out of all our communities.

But organizing at this scale, at this speed, with this much on the line—it’s not cheap. But it’s what this moment demands. And we need resources to keep this movement growing.

Will you start a monthly donation of $5 to continue to hold Democrats’ feet to the fire, rein in Trump, and help get ICE out of our communities?

Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month.

No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.

Thanks for all you do.
