A Message from the DNC National Training Team
Hello Democrats,
Happy New Year! It’s officially 2026, which means the DNC, state parties, campaigns, and partners across the country are gearing up for the midterms in November.
Thank you to those of you who attended the Post-Election Series that concluded in December. We had over 400 current and prospective campaign staff attend the three virtual sessions! We hope to offer more training programs like this in 2026 and beyond, so keep an eye out for future events.
Keep reading to learn more about how you can develop your community organizing skills, build effective campaigns and strategies, and job opportunities on coordinated campaigns, at state parties, and elsewhere in the Democratic ecosystem.
Training Announcements 📢
DNC Local Listeners Program 🤝
After the Democrats’ historic Blue Sweep in November, one thing is clear – when we organize everywhere, we win everywhere. Across New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and California, Democratic coordinated campaigns recruited and trained thousands of volunteers, knocking on millions of doors, making millions of phone calls, and sending millions of texts, reaching voters nationwide.
And we’re only getting started.
As we gear up for the midterms in 2026, the DNC is excited to share a new training opportunity: the Local Listeners Program, a seven-week virtual series that helps volunteers build the skills to have meaningful, grounded conversations in their communities.
Participants will learn how to:
- Listen deeply and engage people with empathy
- Become a part of a nationwide feedback loop to make sure we continue to hear from votersand understand what they are feeling
- Have effective conversations with friends, family, neighbors, and online communities
- Navigate frustration, disillusionment, or confusion about politics
- Talk about what Democrats are doing in ways that resonate locally
- Strengthen their community by helping bring more people into the work
- Become a part of our broader organizing infrastructure that helps lift up voter voices
The program begins January 21, with sessions every Wednesday. Anyone passionate about organizing, civic engagement, or supporting their community is welcome to join.
