Really great news coming out of Olympia! SB 5098 had a hearing in the House Committee on Civil Rights & Judiciary last week! This bill will keep guns out of public parks, playgrounds, county fairs, and public buildings, ensuring these public spaces are safer for families and communities. Now, it’s scheduled to be voted on in committee tomorrow!
And that’s not all – we’re also one step closer to passing Permit to Purchase (HB 1163), which was just heard in committee this morning. This policy has been in the works for nearly a decade – and we’re closer than ever to making it a reality. Stay tuned for upcoming actions you can take regarding HB 1163, or check out our Legislative HQ to always stay up to date on bill progress.
, we need to thank lawmakers for considering SB 5098 and urge them to vote YES during executive session tomorrow.
Together, we can make sure lawmakers listen to the people – not the gun lobby. Let’s finish the job and get these bills passed!
