This primary election, Washingtonians across the state cast their votes for gun responsibility champions up and down the ballot. A whopping 96 of our 98 endorsed candidates are on track to advance to the general election – a clear sign that voters are prioritizing gun responsibility at the polls. This is a huge win for our movement and a strong message to the gun lobby that our communities are ready for more robust gun safety measures.

We know that the first step in enacting strong gun safety laws is electing champions who will prioritize this issue. As we face the challenges ahead, having leaders who understand the urgent need to continue strengthening our gun laws and supporting community-based gun violence prevention programs is more important than ever.
