Washington Republicans are running scared. After years of disastrous votes that have hurt our families, workers, and students, they’re now trying to rebrand themselves as “moderates.”
We won’t fall for it.

Candidates like Michelle Caldier and Chad Magendanz are trying to form a shadowy bloc of “moderates” ready to stop progress in Olympia. Their plan? Team up with a few Democrats, derail bills, and block policies that help working families, all under the guise of being “pragmatic.”
These are the same folks who are pushing to stop healthcare expansion, gut core government services, serve their corporate donors, and are doing Trump’s bidding at the cost of thousands of Washingtonians. Now, they want you to believe they’ve changed. But we see right through them.
In fact, we’ve seen this before. In 2010, the so-called “Roadkill Caucus” wreaked havoc on the legislative process, stalling legislation and forcing Democrats to fight tooth and nail just to get anything done. Republicans call it “moderate”; we call it obstruction.
If these Republican candidates get elected, they won’t build a “middle.” They’ll roll back the progress we’ve fought for: affordable housing, fair taxes, and a state government that works for you and not big corporations.
Together, we’ll make sure Washington stays on the side of working families, not career politicians trying to rewrite their records.
Thank you,
— Washington State Democrats
