When asked recently whether he has to uphold the Constitution, President Donald Trump actually said, out loud:
“I don’t know. I’m not… I’m not a lawyer. I don’t know.”
Let that sink in. The man who swore an oath to defend the Constitution a mere three months ago isn’t sure if he’s supposed to follow it. Convenient, huh?
Trump is openly ignoring due process, deporting people en masse, and enacting his extremist, unconstitutional agenda in every corner of our country—including right here in Washington.
Just look at what this administration has done to our fellow Washingtonians:
📍 Twenty-three international students at the University of Washington had their visas stripped without warning or cause. No due process. No explanation. Just cruelty, plain and simple. UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
📍 ICE agents arrested a Spokane man who’s lived here since he was a toddler, despite serious legal questions about his immigration status and due process rights. This arrest could very well be unconstitutional, and it exposes just how dangerous Trump’s agenda is for people without a country to “return” to. UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
📍 The Trump administration is using GOP extremists like Rep. Michael Baumgartner to drag their hateful, illegal deportation agenda straight into our state—going after our sanctuary laws and Washington values. UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
This is the Trump playbook: ignore the law, stoke fear, and destroy communities. We’re not going to let it happen here.
