Trump’s election-rigging scheme is expanding…
Last week, Missouri’s Governor, Mike Kehoe, officially called a special legislative session on redistricting.
On orders from Donald Trump, Missouri Republicans will be redrawing their state’s Congressional district map to eliminate Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s (MO-D) seat in Congress, a historically Democratic-leaning seat.
This is gerrymandering at its worst. It’s so transparent: Republicans know they can’t win on their disastrous policies, so they’re trying to rig the rules of our democracy. We have to fight back.
This isn’t just about one district. It’s about whether voters get to choose their representatives, or whether politicians get to hand-pick their voters. Trump’s political machine and a Republican supermajority are pushing hard, and the danger couldn’t be greater.
And if they succeed in Missouri, they’ll double down everywhere, including right here in Washington. That’s why it’s so important we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Missouri Democrats and fight back.
