I’m the proud daughter of a single mom, a lifelong organizer, the first woman of color to serve as Chair of the Washington State Democrats, and the first South Asian woman to lead a state party. I’ve spent my career fighting for civil rights, climate action, and reproductive freedom, because I know firsthand what’s at stake when our communities are left behind. And today, I’m honored to lead a movement that’s fighting back harder than ever.
But our work is also more urgent than ever.
Right-wing extremists are ripping away abortion access, targeting our LGBTQ+ communities, and rolling back the rights our mothers and grandmothers fought so hard for.
That’s not equality. That’s a wall designed to keep us out of power. I know this all too well.
