Days after Vladimir Putin told Donald Trump that the U.S. shouldn’t have mail-in voting, Trump pledged to eliminate it nationwide.

Mail-in voting is safe, secure, accessible, and transparent.

Here in Washington, it’s one of the cornerstones of our democracy, making it possible for seniors, disabled people, working parents, rural voters, and those without easy access to transportation to cast their ballots.

But Trump and the WA GOP are doing everything they can to tear it down. Right now, the WA GOP is pushing a dangerous initiative that would dismantle Washington’s nation-leading vote-by-mail system and strip away one of the most effective and inclusive voting tools in the country. And with Trump’s support, they will stop at nothing to enact their anti-democracy scheme. 

This is nothing short of an attack on the right to free and fair elections, and we will fight them tooth and nail.

I’m asking you to take two quick but powerful actions today:

If you haven’t already, add your name and pledge: I will not sign the Washington GOP’s dangerous initiative, and I will fight to protect vote-by-mail in Washington.

Chip in to power our fight: Your grassroots donation will help us organize early, educate voters, and outpace the GOP’s attacks on our democracy.

Washington has led the way in building one of the most accessible, secure, and transparent election systems in the nation. We can’t let Trump or extremists here at home dismantle it.

Together, we’ll protect our democracy, safeguard every vote, and win big in November.
