This episode of The Daily is a great explainer on exactly why this Texas redistricting power grab is worse than the others Trump has displayed for nearly a decade.
Why this story is important:
Trump fired the Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner because he didn’t like the numbers from the jobs report. “Trump is like a football coach who wants the referee fired because his team didn’t score more touchdowns. But this isn’t a game.” Also, all numbers coming out of this administration about the world’s largest and most consequential economy are now … suspect.
Why this story is important:
Project Warp Speed and the COVID vaccine were arguably one of the first Trump Administration’s rare accomplishments that served the greater good. Pulling funding for vaccines to combat respiratory illnesses, such as COVID is a willful and giant step backwards for public health.
Why this story is important:
You really can’t fool all the people all the time. Trump won Nebraska, and Flood won his district, by 22 points. Still, the good folks of NE-1 were not buying the bullfeathers about the Big Beautiful Bill, which one irate voter rightly called a “monstrosity.”
