After promising not to touch seniors’ earned benefits, the Trump administration is now openly scheming to put retirement security at the mercy of Wall Street.
Last week, Trump’s Treasury Secretary admitted that the so-called “Trump Accounts” are a backdoor to privatizing Social Security.
This is a direct attack on millions of Americans who rely on Social Security for food, housing, and life-saving medications. And it comes on the heels of the biggest funding cut in Medicaid’s history, likely resulting in 17 million people losing their health care.
Sacrificing these benefits to the whims of the stock market will crush seniors every time there’s a market downturn.
We need to shout it from the rooftops: keep your damn hands off our Social Security!
