There’s no way to sugarcoat it: Washington Republicans are betraying us.
Fourteen of our rural hospitals are at risk of shutting down. One in four nursing homes could close their doors. Over 900,000 Washingtonians could lose access to food assistance. Hundreds of thousands in Central and Eastern Washington could be stripped of Apple Health coverage.
And what are WA Republicans doing? Voting for it.
Michelle Caldier voted against protecting people with preexisting conditions. Chad Magendanz backed charter schools that siphon public dollars and cherry-pick students. And they both supported Trump’s GOP Budget bill.
Meanwhile, Reps. Dan Newhouse and Michael Baumgartner are voting to rip healthcare away from the very communities they represent. Their districts make up some of the highest Apple Health enrollments in Washington, yet they’re siding with the ultra-wealthy over their own constituents.
Look, we can’t stop Republicans from pushing aside their constituents for their own gain. But we can support the Washington Democratic leaders who fight to protect Washingtonians—defending our rights and freedom, lowering costs, and standing up to extremists who want to take us backwards.
Our primary is days away. And it’s so important we defend our Washington State Democrats, and reject extremism creeping its way into our state.
