The cruelly dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” is a moral failure, an environmental threat, and a fiscal disaster.
Built in just 8 days on indigenous land without consulting local indigenous communities, in an environmentally sensitive area, vulnerable to hurricanes without a clear evacuation plan, this facility already has a reputation for abusing the immigrants being held there.
We’ve sued to make sure every person detained there can speak to their attorneys – and while our lawyers fight back in court, we’re pressuring Congress to do the right thing and block all federal funds to Florida’s notorious Everglades immigration center.
With thanks for all you do,
