After promising throughout his campaign that he would not involve the U.S. in any new wars, Donald Trump just impulsively and illegally plunged our nation into the middle of Israel’s war with Iran.1
This moment is nothing short of a national emergency.
We will not sit by while Trump drags us into another forever war. We will not allow him to shovel billions of dollars into this conflict while stripping away billions of dollars in health care funding and using war as a ruse to strip us of even more freedoms. This is a moment to say loud and clear: Fund health care not warfare!
For too long, decision-makers have spent our tax dollars inflaming conflicts in the Middle East, while giving domestic health and social programs the short end of the stick. Congress needs to fund hospitals, Medicaid, and food assistance—not write blank checks for endless war.
But we know that Republicans in Congress won’t stand up to Trump. In fact, they’ll happily use this as a distraction so they can push through his terrible budget bill while everyone is looking the other way.
We won’t let that happen.
We will not accept this violent status quo, and we will not allow Republicans to use it to push forward their horrible agenda.
MoveOn was at the forefront of the movement opposing the Iraq War, and we’re ramping up our anti-war organizing again right now. But we need you with us.
Over the last few months, we have watched the grassroots, people-powered movement against Trump and his regime grow and grow—and this is the moment to turbocharge our organizing.
