Rep. Newhouse Just Voted To Strip Health Care From 22,000 Central Washingtonians
Early this morning Congress narrowly voted (215 – 214) to slash $716 billion from health care, the biggest attack on Mediciad and other health care programs in U.S. history. Our Congressman, Dan Newhouse, should have been the vote to stop this, but he voted yes on cutting health care for 22,000 Central Washingtonians.1
Our Congressman ignored pleas from at least 12,000 constitutents (including you!) and many health care providers including Grant County Health District.
Our district has the most people in WA who rely on Apple Health, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act for health care. Cuts won’t just hurt health care for aging people, people with disabilities, children, veterans, and more. Congressman Newhouse’s cuts will shift billions in costs to Washington state taxpayers and small businesses.
