
Franklin County Democrats Invitation
Please sign-up to staff the Democrats Booth and/or walk in the parade
Below you will find a bulleted list of instructions for check in the morning of the parade. Please make sure you follow them as closely as possible so we can minimize confusion and delays to the event:
- Participants check in is located at the intersection of Clark and Tacoma. A map is attached to this email showing the best route to take that morning so you can check in at the proper location.
- Check in will officially begin at 8:30am and will close at 9:30am. No late participants will be accepted.
- The parade will begin at 10:00am.
- To check in, you must have all group participants on site, ready to be staged. If you do not arrive with all group participants, you will be held in the group holding area until your entire party arrives.
- The group holding area will be located at the Pasco police department training facility gated parking lot. (204 W Clark St, Pasco, WA 99301).
- Once your group has been checked in, you will be sent north on Tacoma St. for holding until the parade is set to begin. All vehicles will be stopped at Tacoma & Sylvester until pushed forward as spacing allows.
- We will have staff in golf carts and parks staff trucks at each turn leading to Nixon St. so there is minimal confusion to get from holding to the start of the parade.
- Once your group is sent ahead, please proceed slowly and cautiously to ensure that all staff and pedestrians are safe.
- Once on Nixon St. you will proceed west until you reach the beginning of the parade at 3rd. Ave. Please see the attached map for the full parade route.
- Once participants have completed the parade route and turned right onto Sylvester St., they will be free to leave the parade grounds. Please be cautious as you leave using the surrounding side streets as pedestrians viewing the parade will be walking around.
Additional Information:
- We have opened check in to begin at 7:30am instead of 8:30am. We want to give our participants time to get checked in so there as few delays as possible.
- Once you are checked in, we will begin staging parade entrants going north onto Tacoma St. Once you have been set up to stage, we ask that you turn off your vehicles and leave them in park, until we are ready to move them forward as the start of the parade draws closer.
- If your group has forgotten anything and needs to get it dropped off, you will have to walk outside of the parade staging area to pick it up. Only parade vehicles will be allowed in the staging area.
We will be sending additional information out next Monday and Wednesday to all participants so we can ensure that it gets to you. There will be a full timeline and bulleted list for those emails. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask! Thank you!
