Last night, House Republicans stayed up all night to continue pushing the largest cuts to health care and food assistance in American history.
If the House GOP’s budget is passed, 14 million Americans will lose their health care, and a program that 42 million Americans rely on to put food on the table will be at risk.
Republicans held meetings on this bill in the middle of the night in hopes that the American people wouldn’t notice. But we did.
For months, Democrats have been sounding the alarm about this bill — holding more than 100 town halls across the country, including in districts where Republicans won’t show up to meet with their own constituents.
At the same time, it’s more important than ever that we have a Democratic Congress that will actually fight for the people they represent, not take away their basic necessities. We’re committed to competing everywhere and making sure Republicans face the consequences of legislation like this at the ballot box. But to do that, we need your help.
