Today we…
Support new arrivals through education, relationships and community so they can thrive in their new home.
In the future, we will…
Create a community of open hearts, helping hands and supportive systems where strangers become friends and we all thrive.
Purchase your tickets today for B5’s first fundraising dinner. Scheduled for Thursday, April 3, the meal will be prepared by two Sudanese families who are excited to share their food and culture with B5’s supporters.
Khalda and Omkalthom earned their food handler’s cards in December 2024 with the support of B5 and in January they taught their classmates how to prepare two Sudanese dishes. The first was a dessert called Basta and the second was Tamia, a Sudanese version of falafel. This was a fun opportunity for students in our Adult English classes to practice their language skills while still on break. Since then Khalda has joined the Opportunity Kitchen program though Columbia Ability Alliance where she is honing her kitchen skills and preparing to work in hospitality.

You don’t want to miss this opportunity to enjoy a meal prepared by these ladies or the chance to meet them and learn more of their stories. Tickets are $100 per guest and space is limited. Purchase tickets below or contact Larissa Knopp, Development Coordinator, for more information.

Thank you to all of you who give your time and money, so refugees and immigrants can find welcome at the doors of B5. Your donation in any amount allows us to support our programs to help newly arrived refugees THRIVE in our community. Will you join us?
Donations can be made through our website or they can be mailed to: B5 Learning Center 715 S Jean Street Kennewick, WA 99336
