It’s true. While Trump’s tariffs sent the S&P 500 plummeting and we prepared for costs soaring on everything from groceries to building materials, Trump was out hitting the links. No plan, no details—just a promise to wreck the economy between rounds on the back nine.
Now? Without warning, he’s paused those tariffs for most countries—except for China, where he’s actually raising them. It’s not just bad policy. It’s dangerous and unserious.
Washingtonians can’t afford the boneheaded economic policies coming out of DC. An estimated 1 in 4 jobs in our state depend on international trade and our exports—from wheat to apples to airplanes—are a key part of our economy. Trump’s tariff tantrums hurt working people and small businesses right here at home.
