Hannah Bowen declared victory in her race to become the Democratic nominee as the next state representative for the 6th Essex District Tuesday night after the Beverly At-Large City Councilor built a 600-vote advantage in the city over fellow City Councilor Todd Rotondo in the Massachusetts primary.

The Trump administration has been accused of ignoring or flat-out defying recent federal court orders, with two judges now weighing contempt findings against officials. Washington-based District Judge James Boasberg announced there is probable cause to find the government in contempt.

Newsom’s lawsuit, announced with CA Attorney General Rob Bonta, is the first challenge from a U.S. state against Trump’s signature foreign policy cudgel. California, the world’s fifth largest economy, stands to lose billions to tariffs with major state industries from Silicon Valley to agriculture heavily dependent on global trade.

The GOP-controlled House passed the SAVE Act, which will demand additional proof of voter registration. The problem? Half of all Americans may not have a passport.
