Join Our Next Call on March 26th 8pm EST!
Hello Indivisibles of the Red and Rural Caucus!
We all sat through a State of The Union speech filled with disinformation and rhetoric that calls into question the stability of our democracy. We listened to a despot tout his “accomplishments” that invariably will cause harm to tens of thousands of Americans under the pretense of addressing issues that aren’t real while those that are critical to our nation are left unaddressed. Issues that matter to almost every American.
Here at the Red and Rural Caucus we are bringing you our own Red and Rural State of the Union! On this call, instead of lying to you, we will provide you with the tools you need to have real conversations with folks in your own community. Conversations that are based on the issues that are actually affecting everyday Americans rather than issues that are only applicable to the wealthy 1%.
We recognize that the old world of political messaging has lost its appeal, especially to those who are most often left behind by our political process. Letters, phone calls, and town halls are all important tactics and while we should continue to engage in those, in deeply red and rural communities, pairing these efforts with additional strategies– relationship-building, local coalition work, and connecting through trusted community voices–can help us have a bigger impact.
By combining approaches, we can be even more effective in reaching and mobilizing our communities. We are excited to launch our newest toolkit! It will guide you to build an event that incorporates conversations with people in your community on the issues that matter most to them, rather than those that matter most to people like Trump.
Don’t miss this call folks! We have a great guest speaker who is going to talk about their own experiences of hosting these events in a rural Wisconsin community, and why it works!
See you on Wednesday, March 26th at 8:00pm EST!
