Dear MoveOn member,
Last week at the Democratic National Convention, Michelle Obama issued a simple call for every American: do something.1
And we’re heeding her call. Starting tomorrow, MoveOn is hosting virtual phone banks every Thursday up until Election Day to talk with key voters in swing states and districts about what’s at stake in this election and electing Vice President Harris as our next president.
If you’re fired up and ready to elect Vice President Kamala Harris, now is the time to get involved and do something! Make no mistake about it: This election is all about making sure people turn out to vote, so every call truly does make a difference.
There will be a short training at the beginning of the phone bank session, so even if you’ve never called voters before, MoveOn staff will be available to support you the whole way through.
MoveOn’s Analytics team has identified the specific people in the closest battleground states that will likely determine the election outcome for all of us, and those are the people we’ll be calling during these phone banks. We’re calling them “surge voters”: people who likely support Vice President Harris but don’t vote every year and probably need a little extra nudge to be motivated to turn out in November. By talking to these voters about the stakes of this election, we can make a huge impact in what is likely to be a very tight race.
Since launching MoveOn’s election program, members like you have already made more than 308,000 dials to voters. And with 69 days until Election Day, we need to ramp up. That’s exactly what this moment demands—all of us to get involved and do something to elect the first Black woman to the presidency and defeat Donald Trump once again. Together, we can keep up this momentum to win in November!
