Really great news! SB 5098 just cleared a major hurdle by passing out of the House of Origin! As a reminder, this incredibly important bill will help keep our communities safer by prohibiting firearms in public spaces where children gather – like parks, playgrounds, and county fairs – as well as in state and local government buildings.
This victory truly belongs to you and the countless Washingtonians whose continued advocacy has gotten us one step closer to protecting families and ensuring our public spaces remain safe for everyone.
Now, the fight isn’t over yet – SB 5098 now moves to the State House, and we’ll need your help to get it across the finish line. For now, take a moment to celebrate the incredible progress we’ve made and to thank the legislators who voted YES on SB 5098.
