About Contest Every Race
CER is committed to helping Democrats compete everywhere. CER’s core program revolves around recruiting Democratically-aligned candidates for local office and providing them with the support they need to file and run for office. Our grants program supports local, non-urban Democratic Parties with funding, texting, coaching, and training. Since 2021, we have expanded to over 300 grant teams across 29 states, providing essential resources to strengthen Democratic organizing in communities nationwide.
In 2024, our program was able to provenly net thousands of votes for Kamala Harris. We did this by investing directly in our county teams on the ground who do the hard work of organizing day in and day out. This looks like granting $1.2 million to our county teams, helping them send 13 million text messages, and supporting their canvasses that resulted in 1.4 million doors knocked.
We are excited to continue our work of investing in local leadership to build a resilient Democratic presence in every county and mobilize voters to get Democrats elected. We’d like to formally invite you to join us in this effort by applying to be part of our 2025 Grants Program.
2025 Grants Program
Eligible groups can receive up to $2,400 per year paid quarterly for participating in the program and meeting program goals. Participating Democratic party organizations will also gain access to:
- Virtual training to support organizing efforts
- Operational support to help meet grant requirements
- Free texting capacity to reach and mobilize Democrats in their county
- A national network of organizers and activists to share strategies and resources
- And much more!
