Northwest Immigrant Rights Project – January 21, 2025

Posted on January 21, 2025

This week, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project and partners are starting a united movement for justice by launching Stronger Together, a collective fundraising campaign and action toolkit led by the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) and the following organizations:

  • Casa Latina
  • Church Council of Greater Seattle
  • Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice (JCIJ)
  • Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center (KIAC)
  • OneAmerica

Our shared mission is clear: to celebrate and sustain the critical work on immigrant rights and justice happening across Washington. Explore our Take Action Toolkit to support this work and learn how to get involved in the way that matters most to you.

Why Now?

During Trump’s first term, individuals across the country and here in Washington stepped up—donating, volunteering, and organizing against a rise in U.S. exceptionalism, nativism, and white supremacy. This time, we know what we’re up against, and together, we will channel that renewed energy to support the work needed to uplift immigrant communities across our state.

How You Can Take Action

Instead of competing for resources, we’re collaborating to amplify the collective strength of our movement through a “Take Action” Toolkit offering a menu of actions to help you get involved in the way that resonates with your values.

Choose the area of impact that resonates most with you:

  • Support direct immigration legal services as well as litigation against harmful government policies and practices: Donate to Northwest Immigrant Rights Project
  • Free individuals from detention: Donate to Fair Fight Bond Fund
  • Sustain WAISN’s deportation defense hotline: Donate to WAISN
  • Strengthen the statewide sanctuary network: Donate to the Church Council of Greater Seattle
  • Empower domestic workers and day laborers: Donate to Casa Latina
  • Help immigrant families achieve naturalization: Donate to OneAmerica
  • Build deportation defense through accompaniment: Donate to the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice
  • Support legal representation and fundamental family services: Donate to the Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center

Every dollar you contribute fuels this fight for justice—whether it’s keeping families together, protecting workers, or standing up to discriminatory policies. By giving today, you’re strengthening a statewide network of support that ensures no one falls through the cracks.

Join us to celebrate the United Week of Action and build a future rooted in dignity, justice, and solidarity.

Donate to NWIRP

Thank you for showing up for us in this critical moment. Together, we are stronger.

In united and shared purpose,

Malou Chávez (she/her/ella)
Executive Director

P.S. Share this campaign with your networks and help spread the word! Together, we can make a bigger impact.

Time is running out to vote! Drop your ballot off at one of these ballot boxes: www.bentoncountywa.gov/government/elected_officials/auditor/elections/current_election/drop_boxes...If you know someone: a parent, sibling or friend, who doesn’t vote because they have a feeling it doesn’t matter.... Tell them to vote for their kids, to vote for their brother or sister, for their neighbor. It might matter to that other person and we are MUCH stronger when we do things for each other... not for ourselves. #vote #franklincountywa #bentoncountywa #tricities ... See MoreSee Less

In recognition of the opening of the Center for Recovery, the August 5 Badger Club Forum will feature an important conversation about causes, prevention and treatment of addiction. Two experts will consider what addiction is; the gap between what we know and what we do; what the community is and can be doing; what families need to know; and substance abuse prevention and looking to the future.

    Tri-City Democrats - Friday, July 10, 6:00 PM

    August 14, 2026  6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
4501 W Lattin Ct, West Richland, WA 99353, USA or Pasco Round Table

It's August, and by the time we meet (at 6pm on August 14th) we should know the result of the primaries! We are inviting candidates who have made it through the primary to come visit with us. We will also have 'Hate Has no Home Here' and 'Vote Blue' signs available.

We are hoping that it won't be too hot and smoky for a picnic at the farm - 4501 W Lattin Ct, West Richland, WA. We have plenty of shade and misters and sprinklers to take the edge off the heat. We have the Pasco Round Table reserved in the event that the weather does not cooperate, and we'll make a final announcement on Wednesday the 12th. Come gather with like-minded folks and share some fellowship, food and beverages. If we are picnicking, bring a dish to share, and Tri-City Democrats will provide utensils and plates, and napkins. If we're at the pizza location, TCD will purchase an assortment of pizzas to share. You're on your own for salad bar and beverages, though there are usually pitchers of beer provided by fellow members. We'll have the donation box available for those who care to financially support the group.
