Indivisible Rural Caucus

Join Our Call December 3rd 5pm PST!

Dear Rural Indivisibles,

I’m writing with a quick reminder and warm invitation to join us for this month’s Rural Caucus Call. As we close out the year, we’re gathering to reflect on what our local groups have accomplished, connect those wins to our broader national priorities, and share an early look at what’s ahead for the caucus in 2026.

This call is also a space to ground ourselves before the year ends — to celebrate, listen, and prepare for the work and care we’ll need moving forward.

You’ll leave with a clear picture of the incredible work rural groups have led this year, how those efforts strengthen our national strategy, and what our early plans are for the caucus in 2026 — including ways you can plug in.

Our hope is that you leave feeling an even stronger sense of ownership in the Rural Caucus. We’ll uplift stories directly from local groups and include a listening segment with a short survey so your voice shapes where we go next.

Before the holidays begin, we want you to take something for yourself — so we’ll be inviting everyone to make a small self-care plan and commit to returning together in January, ready and renewed.

We truly hope you’ll join us for this closing conversation of 2025. Your presence continues to shape this caucus and the possibilities we’re building across red & rural communities.

Looking forward to being in community with each of you.

Warmly,

– The Indivisible Red and Rural Caucus Team

– Cameron, Kimberly, Molly and Scott

Join Our Call December 3rd 5pm PST!

Dear Rural Indivisibles,

It’s been a while! Since my departure as co-leader of the Rural Caucus in 2023, I’ve missed you all dearly. This is an incredibly dedicated and resilient community, and it’s about to get even more powerful.

Aftyn Behn, former group leader and co-founder of the Red and Rural Caucus, is running in a special election to flip Tennessee’s Seventh Congressional District. You may recall Aftyn from the first-ever rural caucus summit or from her leadership of inclusive and open rural calls. It’s indisputable that Aftyn’s efforts made a permanent mark on rural organizing at Indivisible. Now, it’s time to show her the same enthusiasm she gave us.

Flipping TN-07 won’t be an easy race to win–Trump won the district by 22 points in 2024. However, we saw races across the nation flip by that margin just two weeks ago. If anyone is up for the challenge, it’s Aftyn. In addition to her time with the Rural Caucus, Aftyn has served as a social worker and a state House Representative. She’s a fighter running to feed kids, fix roads, and fund hospitals. As a longtime activist, Aftyn understands the power of grassroots organizing.

Early voting in the race began on November 13th, and we have just two weeks until voting closes on Election Day (December 2nd). This is our only chance to flip a congressional seat in 2025, and we need your help. You can help get out the vote for Aftyn by:

Signing up for a phonebank. Dials into TN-07 start TOMORROW, and you can join from anywhere in the country! We will start every shift with a training, so first-time phonebankers are welcome!

Knocking doors with Neighbor2Neighbor. If you live in TN-07, take this opportunity to get outside and meet your neighbors! We will provide you with a list of ten like-minded neighbors, a script, and a printable flyer to leave behind.

Splitting a donation between Aftyn and Indivisible. What does Aftyn’s campaign have in common with Indivisible (aside from our shared love of grassroots organizing)? Neither of us are taking a dollar of corporate PAC money. If you are able, please help us power our GOTV efforts and get Aftyn over the finish line.

Want to learn more about Aftyn? Join the What’s the Plan call featuring Aftyn Behn, this Thursday, November 20, 2025.

Flipping this district won’t be easy, but rural organizers understand that the most impactful undertakings rarely are. Let’s harness the grassroots power of our caucus and send one of our own to Congress.

In solidarity,

Tricia Sauer

Rural Caucus Co-Founder

P.S. Don’t forget to register for the December Red and Rural call!

It was a late Sunday afternoon like any other on San Francisco’s Alcatraz Island. The day was winding down, and Aidan Moore, a guest relations employee for Alcatraz City Cruises, was at the dock of the tourist attraction helping visitors disembark. Suddenly, one of the tourists approached him, wide-eyed: They had just seen a coyote swimming to shore, something that has never been recorded before. FULL STORY BELOW:
