Like many of you, we were glued to the TV last night for the vice presidential debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance.
The difference in our country’s future couldn’t be more clear — demonstrated by JD Vance’s refusal to say that Trump lost the 2020 election. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are building on our progress to defend democracy and human rights — and Donald Trump and JD Vance want to roll back decades of protections for women, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, our climate, gun safety, and so much more.
We have the same choice right here in Washington. Far-right extremism is not only threatening the White House — it’s encroaching on our own nation-leading protections for our fundamental freedoms and liberties.
But don’t just take our word for it. You only have to hear Nick’s Republican opponent Pete Serrano in his own words — he called January 6 insurrectionists “political prisoners,” denied the Attorney General office’s role in advancing common-sense gun safety, and balked at Washington’s protections for people who seek abortion care here because their own state has criminalized basic health care.
The erosion of democracy at the national level makes it more critical than ever that our next Attorney General will uphold the law. Nick’s opponent has made it crystal clear that he will not uphold laws he does not agree with — which makes him extremely dangerous for Washington.
Thank you for believing in this campaign!
