Earlier this week, the Florida Supreme Court issued two decisions. The first is a disastrous 6-week abortion ban that will accomplish nothing but putting women’s lives in danger.
The second is that the ballot initiative to enshrine abortion rights will be on the November 2024 ballot.
What does this mean? First, it means that the Florida Supreme Court and the high-level GOP donors they’re beholden to have gone over the cliff like a Wile E. Coyote. Any reasonable person would look at the string of unmitigated losses that the GOP has taken since Dobbs and understand that Americans do not want abortion bans.
These are not reasonable people.
They are bent on stripping freedoms from our communities to make sure that their agenda – including banning abortion outright – that cannot win at the ballot box, wins the day.
