The national security community expects our changing climate to present a large number of challenges. The US Navy will have to grapple with newly opened Arctic Sea lanes and rising sea level impacts on its bases, and we expect sea level rise and changes in water and food availability to stimulate large population movements during this century. The former commander of the United States Pacific Command said that climate change was his largest security concern.

Bob Hallahan, retired Navy Commander, will be speaking on these topics and the military response.
